Masterbatch – otherwise known as pre-mix. It is an additive to the plastic in a concentrated solid form as polymer granules. It is a concentrated mixture of pigments and/or additives, encapsulated during the thermal process in a carrier resin, which is then cooled and cut into granules.

What are premixes used for?

The use of masterbatch is a very beneficial solution. Their use allows, first of all:

  • Coloring – special coloring premixes are used to impart color to raw polymers.
  • Filling (so-called fillers) – they are used to reduce production costs and to impart and correct mechanical and thermal properties.
  • Imparting properties – some premixes enable base materials to have special properties, such as mechanical, electrical or chemical.

Masterbatch PA polyamide

The hard, abrasion- and heat-resistant PA polymers can be used in a wide variety of applications. The varieties of this granulate on offer meet very demanding European standards, including 2002/72/EC. They can be used in a variety of industries - from furniture and machinery to the production of sports accessories.

Masterbatch PBT polybutylene terephthalate

Nearly 20 varieties of this polymer are used with great effectiveness in the electronics industry. The product has very high crystallinity and low shrinkage after being introduced into the mold. Most varieties are characterized by low abrasion and compliance with American and European standards.

Masterbatch PET polyethylene terephthalate

A polymer used on a very large scale. Among the most popular products are PET bottles, used as containers for beverages, for example. In addition, the polymer is often used in the textile industry, mainly for the production of knitted fabrics and woven fabrics such as fleece and terylene. PET is characterized by high efficiency and low storage costs.

Masterbatch PP Polypropylene

One of the most commonly used plastics. A colorless and odorless product with an extremely low water absorption coefficient. Used on a very large scale in industrial production – from the manufacture of medical equipment, through electronic insulation, to packaging in the food industry.

Masterbatch PE polyethylene, ethylene polymer

Next to PP, the most commonly used polymer in industrial production. It is widely used in the production of films, containers, tanks, packaging, skis, nail polish removers, and many other products. PE films are resistant to acids, bases, salts, and low temperatures.
