For gas turbines and engines
The most common protection used for gas turbines and engine exhaust systems is explosion relief with pressure relief plates. A pressure relief plate, is designed to open immediately at a certain pressure into a closed system. Its purpose is to protect this system from excessive pressure caused by a dust or gas explosion.
Fike’s FlamQuench II technology consists of different layers of high-temperature stainless steel that absorb heat generated during combustion, allowing conventional explosion relief in a room without releasing flame. GEX is Fike’s designation for FlamQuench II technology used for flameless venting of gas turbines and engine exhaust systems.
Applications:
- Flame arrester technology with safety plates and burst sensors,
- removes the need for decompression ducts to exit bursts,
- easy installation,
- suitable for relieving gas turbine explosions,
- virtually maintenance-free.
